The functions of Onga Energy Efficiency and Management Pty Ltd are to provide energy audit, energy efficiency planning and measurement and verification (M&V) inspections to energy efficiency and demand side management projects, and to provide energy efficiency related consulting services. Through an energy audit, clients are provided with a comprehensive understanding of energy consumption and operating conditions of the existing energy systems. An energy efficiency (EE) planning refers to the process of determining the best interventions that could be implemented to improve efficiency of an existing facility in terms of energy consumption reduction, and energy cost decrease in the most cost-effective manner. The measurement and verification inspection is essential to ensuring the credibility of energy saving claims and managing the risks associated with delivering energy efficiency and conservation.
Onga’s technical scope includes the following:
- Lighting system energy efficiency project: This includes all light retrofitting, lighting control, and all types of lighting bulbs. Street light and traffic light are also included.
- Heat pump water heating system: This includes the replacement of electrical water heating systems by heat pumps at residential homes, commercial buildings, hotels, mines, etc.
- Solar water heating system: This include the installation and retrofitting of both low pressure and high pressure solar water heating systems at residential homes, commercial buildings, hotels, etc.
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system: This includes different types of projects on the control of HVAC (motion sensor, temperature and/or humidity control, etc.), retrofit of HVAC, and installation of HVAC.
- Pumping system energy efficiency: This includes various pumping system projects on the load shifting, flow rate control, maintenance, pump replacement, 3-pipe chamber system, etc. The pumping system includes the irrigation system as well.
- Compressed air system: This includes the control and retrofit of compressed air systems in buildings and mines.
- Motor system: This includes the control and retrofit of motor based system such as conveyor belts, winders, crushers, elevators, etc.
- Industrial production line upgrade, retrofit and installation: This includes the upgrade, retrofit of existing inefficient production lines and installation of new efficient production lines. Furnaces, and other production lines in pulp, food, steel, etc., will be covered.
- Commercial building energy management: This includes various energy management projects on commercial buildings such as lighting control, HVAC control, water heating system upgrade, power factor correction, three phase load balance, etc.
Others: There will be other types of projects which are not covered by the above types of projects, however, they can be measured and verified in a similar method as the above projects. These projects will lie in the technical scope of Onga. Onga provides also energy efficiency measurement and verification related consulting service.
